I am sitting at my computer writing this with a bandage on my right wrist and a brace on my left.
I have become a victim of falls. OMG, not from old age, really, but from the kind of incidents that could happen to anyone. Unfortunately, I just don’t bounce the way I used to. LOL. Between the dog tripping me up and me scrambling a little too enthusiastically over slippery, algae-covered rocks, I now find myself nursing a broken right wrist, a badly sprained left wrist, a twisted left knee, and an inflamed, slightly displaced right patella.
All I can say is thank goodness I am an MLD practitioner. Stationary circles and bandaging to the rescue. One day after self-treatment, I went from not being able to walk to a right knee that had adjusted enough for me to bear weight with no problem. The twisted knee proved a little more complex, since the muscles of the thigh and calf were involved, but it resolved quickly after a few self-administered sessions. So now I am perfectly ambulatory.
Perhaps I should mention that the first round of injuries, right hand and left knee, happened four weeks ago, and the second round, left hand and right knee, happened yesterday. No, I was not looking to balance things out.
So how do I treat myself when both hands are injured? Fortunately, the broken wrist is well on its way to healing, so I could use my right hand to work on my left hand and right knee.
Feeling very grateful for these skills today, I opened my emails and found a note from one of my frequent students about her Connective Tissue work and the real difference it has made in resolving a rash that had irritated her for years.
I cannot stress how many times these therapies have come to the rescue in both my personal and professional life. So now I ask: what are you looking for in your practice as a therapist?
If results is your answer, and you are willing to put in the work, then ASTECC training is for you. Real understanding only comes through repeated study, and intentional practice is the key to your success.

Appreciate your story and the reminder of the healing power of MLD and the right touch. So glad to hear you are on the mend.
Best of health and wellness to you-
Moon
