Esthetician Curriculum
With a focus on “beauty from the inside out” ASTECC’s 120 hour post graduate Esthetician Curriculum is designed to provide the practitioner with the skills and expertise to develop individualized, result oriented treatment programs. Featuring theoretical and practical instruction specific to esthetic practice, the 7 course curriculum mirrors components taught in ASTECC’s Spa Therapy training. Practical training concentrates on analysis, protocols, use of natural elements and special techniques.

Dr. Vodder’s MLD: Basic Neck & Face
Easily incorporated into a repertoire of basic skin care, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) encourages the elimination of metabolic waste while accelerating the flow of fresh oxygen and nutrients. Lecture details the basic anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system,MLD’s effects, indications and contraindications. Practical training includes instruction in MLD techniques and neck and face routines. (20 hours)
Dr. Vodder’s MLD: Advanced Neck & Face
Designed to broaden understanding of the lymph vessel system and to introduce specific therapeutic techniques, Advanced Neck & Face focuses on pre and post cosmetic healing, skin regeneration and the treatment of common skin conditions including acne, rosacea, congestion and inflammation. (20 hours)
Clinical Aromatherapy
Drawing on oriental diagnosis and constitutional analysis, this subtle, light- to- the- touch rejuvenating therapy introduces the esthetician to the remarkable efficacy of essential oils in influencing the body’s balancing center. Practical instruction emphasizes acu-pressure points, drainage pathways, technique and protocols. (16 hours)
Connective Tissue
Effective in stimulating the cellular production of collagen and elastin fiber, connective tissue methods provide deep relaxation and dramatic rejuvenating results. Lecture details the role of loose connective tissue. Practical gentle training focuses on facial analysis, technique skills and treatment protocols. (16 hours)
Thalassotherapy
The principle of thermal constancy and the innumerable heath benefits of the marine climate are explored with special emphasis on the use of mineral rich seawater and marine plants in esthetic practice. Practical training includes instruction in algae, salt and water treatments. (16 hours)
Biochemical Elements
Understanding the biochemical elements of the human body and their relationship to an individual’s ‘constitution’ is anessentialcomponent of advanced esthetic practice. Students learn to identify the links between general constitutions and the corresponding elements found in esthetic treatments. (16 hours)
Designing the Right Treatment Program
Drawing on the ASTECC curriculum students evaluate body/ facial types, general constitutions and medical histories to determine appropriate facial treatments and home regimes. As the final component of the esthetic curriculum, students are assigned case histories and are asked to develop a treatment plan based on the ASTECC curriculum. (16 hours)
