Big Apple IECSC

As always, the New York City IECSC was lots of fun. People from all over the world and lots of them!  Enjoyed hearing from attendees who told me they had heard so many good things about ASTECC training and found it funny  when one young lady  admitted to me that she had accidently plopped  down in our classroom ( instead of the one next door) and decided to stay because she was enjoying it so much.

I was joined in the classroom by ASTECC therapists-in-training Maryfrances Gainey, Pamela Dryden and Adrienne Keegan – all of them possessing wonderful ‘touch’ and great intention. Maryfrances and her faithful companion (the world’s smallest dog, Juliana) did a great job with IT & video, Pamela was at her ingratiating best and Adrienne, just off a plane from Ireland, miraculously kept her eyes open and attention focused. They certainly enhanced the learning experience for everyone – including me. Everyone brought the wonderful gift of who they are.  I felt blessed.

Every show has its own personality and the NYC IECSC is consistently wonderful. Curious and eager to learn, students jump in head first and work. GREAT NYC energy! This year’s group was open and willing and the practical sessions produced its share of ‘Ah-ha’ moments. One woman who attended the 5 hour MLD session returned the next day to thank us for the best night’s sleep she’d had in years.  Aroma- Reflex shined clear and bright. Hydro was simple, results were dramatic. Spa can be powerful medicine.   See you in Vegas!

    • I attended both tbe Aroma Reflex Point and Practical Hydrotherapy classes at the NY IECSC and it was the highlight of the day for me. I used to be one of those massage therapists who considered spa therapy to be “fluff” and a waste of time, but that was a while back and I now know better.

Anne Bramham is a wonderful woman and I applaud and support her seemingly tireless mission to educate the public and spread the importance of hydrotherapy. Hopefully more spas will follow her lead. SALUS PER AQUA!
