ASTECC’s New Faces

This is an exciting time for ASTECC: We have a new website, a new Board, and we are busy becoming more of what we have always been … an organization dedicated to realizing spa’s full potential.

The Board, I’m happy to report,  is a  circle of diverse, talented women working collectively to carry forward the message of SPA.  As a group we have no labels, no titles and our message is one of empowerment – empowerment of self and community via the essential ingredients of SPA  – educated touch, water, earth’s organic elements, movement, nutrition and purpose.

In other words, SPA at its very best.

We are about to take a major step forward in our ASTECC Leadership Training. Loren Kornreich, Kristi Dickinson and Julie Raistrick, all of whom have worked with ASTECC at different properties,  have joined our ASTECC Board and will double  as faculty members of ASTECC Leadership Trainings. They bring a wealth of knowledge and valuable insight to ALT and promise to be a source of inspiration for other leaders within the spa culture.

We are excited also to have in our circle, Mary Bemis, the founder of Organic Spa and Nancy Griffin who brought us Spa Trade.  Engaging and infinitely wise in all matters concerning SPA, their remarkable communication and PR skills will help  get the ASTECC message out.  We are also blessed to have Diane Trieste on the Board. With a Spa background covering hands-on practice to corporate management (Canyon Ranch) to Education ( Cortiva) Diane is an artist in networking. I think she knows everyone in this field.

Ann Brown and I will continue to teach and mentor practitioners and team leaders and it is our intention to bring a few more teachers aboard in 2012 to help Diane Okamura, Leah and myself.  By the way, Diane O  has a really big year ahead of her. She will birth her first child in just a few months. We’re so happy for you. Diane still plans to join us at the Las Vegas IECSC.

I feel blessed to be working with such gifted, beautiful women. To all of you, thank you. Anne
